Challenge:

Producing the “Chairside Chat” spot with Benny, a virtual tooth, posed unique challenges to not only create the character himself, but integrate it seamlessly into the real-world.

Approach:

That integration started early in the preproduction phase, where we created animatics based off of the real location we were going to shoot in and a detailed shot list. On set, we used a combination of state of the art live visualization (to place the character in the shot and ensure the talents were speaking to the right spot) as well as a motion control robot to get consistent tracking shots.

In post, the teams at Fairwinds animation worked relentlessly to make Benny lifelike and expression, a crucial step to engage viewers and convey the message effectively.
